NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) was formed in 1979 as an independent examining board and awarding body with charitable status.  This certification board are recognised by the relevant professional membership bodies including the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM). NEBOSH is a UK-based independent examination board delivering vocational qualifications in health, safety & environmental practice and management.  The system of NEBOSH examinations and assessments are set by its professionally qualified staff assisted by external examiners; most of whom are Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners or Chartered Environmentalists operating within industry, the public sector or in enforcement. Handal Consulting & Training (Centre No. 738) is the one of accredited centre to deliver NEBOSH International General Certificate and NEBOSH International Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety.

As an independent and not-for-profit organisation they aim to regulate and steer the profession, maintaining standards and providing impartial and authoritative guidance on health and safety issues. Their flagship course, the IOSH Managing Safely qualification, is one of the most popular health and safety courses available.
